Masquerade Ball (Mass Thread)

The hall had been decorated for the occasion and Christabelle had been pleased to see that everything had been done according to her exact specifications. Halloween was one of her favorite holidays by far, and she knew her students tended to enjoy even the smallest of festivities. This would keep them tied up well until it was time for the Yule Ball and Christmas celebrations.

She could see her own students starting to arrive and Christy, wearing a corseted dress of Ravenclaw blue with black lace held up a hand held mask made of the same satin and lace to cover her eyes. With any luck, this night would go off without incident. At least she hoped it would. Walking past the jack o lanterns, Christabelle pointed her wand to them, lighting each one up as she passed, signaling that the students may also enjoy the festivities.

Kenji walked into the great hall to see if he could assist with anything and he smiled when he saw Christy. He wore a long black cloak that was long enough to slightly drag on the floor, he wore the scarlet color of Gryffindor. His mask was of the same color but it had black silk thread that tied it to his face. The rest of his attire was of black including the black gloves on his hands. Kenji walked up to Christy and smiled before asking, "Anything else there is to help with? I would have came down earlier but I wanted to grade a few papers before coming."

Looking around at the decorations in the hall, he smiled because he was impressed with everything. "It looks amazing Christy, you have really out done yourself with this ball." Kenji said still smiling. "I think it looks amazing in here, better than what we had when we were in school, not that i'm saying anything bad about that one. I just think this tops that one and it's absolutely fantastic." He looked up at the Jack 'o' Lantern seeing how they were clashing with the enchanted ceiling and it looked they were pumpkin floating lanterns.

Leia Diamanti, dressed in a green crushed velvet gown and green silk high heels, made her way into the Masquerade Ball, hoping her mask wasn't making her makeup sweat off. She nodded and smiled at the Headmistress before wandering around the room, checking out the beautiful decorations which lined the walls and various other places in the room. Once finished with this, she went over to a dark corner and started practicing the waltz. She knew she looked ridiculous, dancing with no one, but she didn't care. One never knew when one might get asked to dance, and one certainly didn't want to look like a complete fool during an actual dance.

"One...two...three...one....two....three..." she murmured, looking down at her feet as she danced, making sure she didn't trip over them as she was wont to do even while simply walking down the corridor. Even as she thought this, however, she bumped into a Halloween decoration and slipped onto the floor, onto her rear end.

"Oh perfect, Diamanti." she growled to herself. "Way to make a complete idiot of yourself in front of the Headmistress. You're lucky none of the other students are here, otherwise you'd be the complete laughingstock of Hogwarts." Saying this, she stood up again, brushed her gown clean, and made her way over to the safety of a table, where she sat down and tried to regain some dignity.
